The valley opens for a limited period from June to October. Famous for its varieties of medicinal herbs, it is also believed that Hanuman brought Sanjivani booti from the Valley of Flowers.

 How to reach:

Air: There is no direct flight connectivity to the Valley of Flowers. Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is the nearest airport.

Train: Rishikesh is the nearest railway station. Regular buses and taxis are available from Rishikesh to the Valley of Flowers.

Road: The closest bus stand is at Govindghat which is the starting point of the trek to the Valley of Flowers.

 Highlights of the Trek:

  • The variety of flora and fauna that inhabits the valley is a major attraction.
  • The panoramic views of the Himalayas and glaciers.
  • Ghangharia is the last habitation center on the way to Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers.
